Tyres

Course Details

Tires are fundamental elements of the active safety of automobiles, for which reason they must develop and guarantee the maximum possible benefits. There are many and varied dynamic conditions in its design and construction due to the service requirements of this component: load capacity, elasticity, damping, directional stability and maximum traction and braking adhesion, in addition to providing a rolling resistance minimum and maximum wear duration.

All the services and requirements required of the tires under service conditions can be affected and reduced if the conditions of use are not respected: inflation pressure, minimum depth of the tread, load and speed characteristics, measurement, etc., negatively affecting the behavior of the vehicle.

Directly the tire is a determining part in the systems of direction, transmission, steering and braking of the vehicle, being in all of them a key factor and limit in many occasions. Additionally, the comfort of the suspension, the level of rolling noise and even fuel consumption depend to a greater or lesser extent on the state and characteristics thereof.

For its correct selection and use, the tyres are engraved in relief on the sidewalls, a series of badges, inscriptions and codings through which you can know their characteristics and performance, according to a standardized classification system designed to maintain the levels of necessary security of cars and their occupants.

The main objectives of this course are:

  • Deepen and publicize the constructive details.
  • Explain the function of the tyres.
  • Be able to perform the maintenance of the vehicle’s tyres.
  • Know the rest of the elements related to the tyres.
