About Us
The Automotive Training Academy,
powered by Maverick Diagnostics, was established in 2022 to provide technical training to individuals and independent workshops working in the automotive aftermarket.
Our main aim at the Automotive Training Academy is to help keep aftermarket workshops up-to-date with the latest in EV/Hybrid training, OEM Diagnostics Tool training, AC&HVAC training and Automotive Oscilloscope training so that they stay relevant, productive and in demand.
We work in partnership with industry-recognised training provider, OPUS-IV, and the national awarding body, The Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI).
Our highly-qualified expert trainers will find the right course for you to improve your skills and look forward to guiding you through your chosen course at our training suite in Wrexham.

Andy is an automotive engineer, businessman and petrol-head. He has been actively involved with the automotive industry for the last 35 years.

Dave has worked in all areas diagnostics; sold, ported, developed software and hardware since the early days of diagnostics.

Jon is an experienced trainer, having run courses for VW ODIS for the last 6 years. A factory-trained VW & Audi technician who has spent 18 years working in his preferred position as a VAG group specialist.

The Automotive Training Academy is accredited by the IMI – Institute of the Motor Industry and by taking one of our IMI courses you can sign up to the IMI TechSafeTM register. Being on the IMI TechSafeTM register not only gives you recognition of your acquired skills and qualifications but is also evidence of being safe and qualified to work on vehicles with systems and technologies that have significant safety implications, e.g. electric vehicles.
